Electrical Engineer - Industrial Power Systems

Serious growth opportunities for the right person. Flexibility to work from home and set your own hours.

Duties:

  1. Travel to the job site to perform field data collection: 15 kV substations, 15 kV switchgear, 480 volt switchgear, Motor Control Centers, BusDuct, cable/feeders, panelboards, motors, etc.
  2. Enter data into EasyPower software to create a model. We will train you on EasyPower.
  3. Create plant overall one-line drawing(s) in AutoCAD. You must have experience in AutoCAD.
  4. Perform short circuit analysis. Identify equipment with inadequate short circuit ratings.
  5. Perform a coordination study to determine optimum breaker/relay settings.
  6. Perform arc flash hazard analysis.
  7. Write the written report in MS Word.
  8. Create and format the spreadsheet reports using MS Excel (data exported from EasyPower).
  9. Print reports and labels.
  10. Travel to the plant to install warning labels and set breaker/relay trip settings.

Field Engineer:

Travel to job sites to collect field data needed for industrial power system studies. Must have experience with industrial power systems starting with 15 kV switchgear down to 480 volt systems and low-voltage panelboards. Must have experience programming 480 volt circuit breakers and 15 kV and 480 volt protective relays. You will use hand tools and portable tools to open energized electrical panels while wearing/using appropriate electrical safety PPE.

Duties:

    1. Field Data Collection Services:

Take notes and record breaker/relay trip settings, feeder cable sizes/lengths and raceway type, fuse sizes/types, nameplate data from switchgear, transformers, panelboards, machines, and nameplate data from large motors. Sketch a one-line diagram. Take high-quality digital photos of everything that is recorded.

    1. Arc Flash Labeling Services:
    2. Install arc flash warning labels on all electrical power distribution equipment in industrial plants.
    3. Protective Relay/Breaker Setting Adjustments:
    4. On-site adjustment of 480 volt switchgear circuit breaker trip settings and 15 kV and 480 volt protective relays.
